Clinical Department Improvments

The Clinical Department Performance Improvement process evaluates an individual departments core functions (Staff Knowledge, Documentation, Charge Capture, Coding and Billing) to ensure compliance with Medicare and other payers’ guidance. The process involves interviewing key staff members, auditing a random sampling of recent cases, evaluating the departmental CDM, reviewing any and all charge related documents, Visit related charge generation, coding (ICD10 and CPT/HCPCS), CCI and MUE edit generation, and any billing issues that arise based upon the departmental charging and coding practices. Wellington will produce a detailed departmental analysis that will outline specific issues and corrective action plan that can be carried out by a Wellington staff member or internal hospital staff member depending upon hospital management preferences and budget.
